Cheap is a different object.
There are 3D printed figures online for a fraction of this. They are printed from a shared file, at speed, on a home machine, and shipped unfinished. That is a genuinely different product, and it is priced like one. Here is where the money goes instead.
Every part is drawn from scratch, including the stud-and-socket tolerances that let a head turn and still hold its position. Nothing here is a downloaded file, which is the difference you cannot see in a photograph and notice immediately in the hand.
A 1500% figure is about 60 hours on the machine and a 500% about 20 hours. The same geometry can be pushed through far faster. Speed is bought with layer adhesion and surface finish, and on a part this size both show.
We print the stock listed in the configurator by name and hex value, not whatever was cheapest that month. Budget filament is cheap because of what is in it — more filler, less consistent diameter, a weaker bond between layers. A large part made from it behaves like one.
Each piece is inspected, hand sanded through the grits, then given at least 5 coats of 2K Glamour Clear — the two-component automotive clear used on cars, catalysed rather than air-dried. That is hours per figure done by a person, and it is why the surface is hard enough to handle and reads as an object rather than as a print.
Editions are counted and closed. When a number is gone it is gone; we do not reprint a retired edition to meet demand.
None of that is recoverable at a lower price. It is the price.
The part nobody photographs

Every figure gets at least five coats of 2K Glamour Clear — the same two-component automotive clear used on cars. It is catalysed rather than air-dried, which is what makes the surface hard enough to handle and gives the gloss its depth.
Each coat has to flash off before the next one goes on, which is days of rack space for one figure. It is also why the parts in this photograph are on a drying rack rather than in a box — they are not finished yet.

Filament is the cheapest part of any figure on this site. What costs is the modelling, the days on a machine running slowly enough to be worth running, and a person sanding and coating every surface before it is allowed to leave.
