We started making oversized blocky figures because nobody sold one big enough to sit on a gallery floor. Every piece is drawn, printed, finished and packed by us in St. Louis, Missouri.
Each part is drawn from scratch with our own stud-and-socket joint tolerances.
Domestic filament, printed in-house on machines we maintain ourselves.
Each piece is thoroughly inspected for quality standards before being hand finished with sanding and clear coat.
Signed edition card, foam-packed, shipped from St. Louis in three to four weeks.
On the machines
Printed a layer at a time, over days, not minutes.
A 24" figure is nine separate prints. The large shells run 18–30 hours each on their own; a full set occupies the machines for the better part of a week before any finishing work starts.
Support structures are cut away by hand, seams are filled, and every mating surface is test-fitted before paint — which is why each figure carries its own build number rather than a batch code.
On the LEGO question
Our figures take inspiration from a shape that has been part of popular culture for decades, but they are our own sculptures — original geometry, our own joint system, our own finishes, produced in small numbered editions.

studio@megafig.shopPrint time alone is roughly 20 hours at 8", 40 at 16" and 60 at 24" — a 24" figure is nine separate prints. Add inspection, sanding and clear coat and a build leaves the studio in three to four weeks.
3D printed filaments, printed in-house on machines we maintain ourselves. Finished parts are hand sanded and clear coated, so the surface reads smooth rather than glossy plastic.
Yes. Head, arms, hands, torso and legs separate on a stud-and-socket joint system we designed ourselves, and the head, arms and legs rotate with tuned resistance.
The 8" sits on a shelf, the 16" reads as a statement piece on a console, and the 24" is a floor object — the one people photograph. Use the scale slider on any product page to compare against a standard minifigure.
Occasionally. Custom masking and paint work is quoted per project and adds two to three weeks. Write to the studio with the reference you have in mind.
Every figure is foam-packed with a signed edition card and ships from St. Louis. US freight is included; international is quoted at cost before we charge you.
Photograph the box and the piece and email the studio within seven days — we reprint and refinish the affected part at our cost.
