What we collect, and what we do not.
This is a two-person studio, not an advertising business. We keep what we need to build your figure and answer your email, and nothing beyond that.
We collect what you send us in a form or an order, plus analytics and email-marketing measurement. We do not sell it, and nobody buys ad space on this site.
What we collect
Only what you hand us.
There are no accounts on this site. You can browse the whole catalog without telling us anything. We only have information about you if you sent it — by ordering, by asking for a quote, or by joining a list.
- If you order
- Your name, shipping address, email and payment details go to Square, which runs the checkout. Card numbers never touch this website’s server. We receive the order, the address and your email so we can build and ship it.
- If you request a quote
- Whatever you type into the commissions or configurator form — name, email, company, quantity, height, colors, deadline and your notes — plus any artwork you attach.
- If you join a drop list
- Your email, optionally your name, and which height interested you. Used for that one announcement and nothing else.
- Automatically
- Your IP address is recorded with each form submission, which is how we blunt spam and abuse. Our host keeps standard server logs.
- If you are on our mailing list
- Mailchimp, which runs our email, loads a small script on every page. It records which pages are visited in a browser that has previously followed a link from one of our emails or signed up through a form here, so a newsletter can follow up on something you looked at. It sets its own cookie and browser storage to do that — listed below — and it looks your rough location up by IP through Intuit, Mailchimp’s parent company. It does not read anything you type.
On your device
The cart is not a cookie.
Your cart is kept in your own browser’s local storage, not in a cookie and not on our server. It never leaves your device until you press Checkout. Clearing your browsing data clears it.
We set no cookies of our own. Google Analytics sets its own — see below.
- megafig.cart.v2
- What is in your cart. Stays on your device; sent to us only when you check out.
- megafig.shipTo
- Whether you chose United States or Canada, so the cart remembers it next time.
- megafig.pendingOrder
- A flag set while you are away at Square, cleared when you come back.
- mcforms-… (cookie and storage)
- Set by Mailchimp: a session id, a record of recent page views, and whether you have dismissed a signup form. Several keys, all beginning "mcforms". Clearing your site data removes them.
- mc_user_optin
- Set by Mailchimp to remember a tracking choice, where one has been offered.
Who else sees it
Three companies, no advertisers.
Running a shop means other services touch some of your information. These are all of them.
- Square
- Payments and checkout. They receive your name, address, email and payment details, and handle them under their own privacy policy. We never see your card number.
- Google Analytics
- Anonymous usage measurement — which pages are visited, roughly where from, on what kind of device. It sets its own cookies. We use it to see what people look at, not to identify anyone.
- Mailchimp (Intuit)
- Our email marketing. If you join a list, they hold your email address and whatever you gave with it, plus the page-view history described above, under their own privacy policy. Their script runs on every page of this site.
- Hostinger
- Our web host. They store the site and its server logs.
- Nobody else
- We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and no advertising network buys space or places pixels here. The tracking that does exist is Google Analytics and Mailchimp, both named above, both used for our own measurement and our own email. The Instagram link in the footer is an ordinary link — nothing is embedded and nothing is tracked until you click it.
How long we keep it
As long as it is useful, then not.
Order records are kept for our accounting and tax obligations. Quote requests and any artwork you send are kept while we are talking and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to the project.
Ask us to delete something and we will, unless we are required to keep it for tax or fraud-prevention reasons — in which case we will tell you which part we cannot remove and why.
Your choices
Write to us and we will act on it.
Email hello@megafig.shop to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. A person reads it and replies. You do not need to use any particular wording, and we will not ask you to create an account to make a request.
If you are in California, that includes the right to know what we have collected, to have it deleted, and not to be treated differently for asking. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
To stop the analytics specifically, use your browser’s tracking protection or Google’s opt-out add-on. Nothing on the site stops working if you do.
Children
This is not a children’s shop.
Our pieces are art objects for adults and are not intended for children under 14. The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will remove it.
Changes & contact

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above. We do not keep an archive of old versions, so if a specific wording matters to you, save a copy.
